Photo gallery shows stadium progress

Work continues on the new Knoxville stadium. (News Sentinel photo)

Anyone driving near the construction site of Knoxville’s new multi-use stadium can see the progress and the structures going vertical. For those who aren’t passing through the downtown area, local media have documented the work since the blighted site was first being cleared in 2021 to the start of construction in 2023.

The latest photo gallery is from Brianna Paciorka of the News Sentinel and was posted as the calendar flipped to June in 2024. The full gallery can be viewed HERE.

Opening day in 2025 is now 10 months away, and the project remains on schedule.

The stadium also will host soccer, concerts, festivals and other community events for year-round use.

The Tennessee Smokies are playing the 2024 season at the stadium in Kodak, where the team moved in 2000 after efforts failed to build a new facility in Knoxville. Twenty-five years later, the Knoxville Smokies baseball team will be home where it belongs in 2025.
